Dipping spices for breadsticks

One of our favorite foods around here is warm breadsticks with olive oil and dipping spices. When the jar was empty, I mixed up a batch based on the list of ingredients on the jar. It tasted great, but I didn’t write anything down. When that ran out, I mixed up more, this time writing down everything as I added it in. We absolutely love it.

Do do you mix it up with oil or do you dip the bread in oil then dip in the spice dip? I guess I am confused?

We each have a small cup with some olive oil in it (1-2 Tbsp, I guess). Then we sprinkle some of the spices on top of the oil and dip the bread in the mixture. We don’t use much spice – it gets stronger the longer it sits in the oil.
