Another trip to IN

February 13, 2006 at 9:25 pm in Miracles,Moving

But this time I’m not going.

Stephen’s flying out tomorrow afternoon to spend a week up in IN turning in resumes and hopefully having some interviews. I am amazed that it is cheaper to fly than it is to drive, but it is. That will be nice for me though – I get to keep the van here with me.

Another huge blessing is that we have a rental house open and ready for us to move into! Annie was telling me about it tonight…knowing that it is open and waiting for us is a HUGE relief. The price is right too, and actually a lot less than we anticipated.

Now we just need to find a place to house our chickens until we buy a house, and we’re all set! Oh yeah – we need a renter too…but the property manager actually put the For Rent signs up in the yard today…

So blessed

Stephen called me yesterday to tell me some good news. The pastor from his old church told him that when we get ready to move – they would pay for a tank of gas in our moving truck. Wow.

Stephen’s been working down at the school there this week. His parents both still work there. Almost every day this week, he’s brought home leftovers from school lunch. What a huge blessing! It’s been kinda fun calling him each day to ask, “What are you bringing home today?” So far this week, he’s brought home chicken tenders (big yum! We haven’t had those in a looooong time, and we ate those right up!), spaghetti and Italian bread, and pizza. What a blessing. I love to cook, but this free food is wonderful – and saving me some work – well, that’s nice too!

Our bills are getting paid. It’s amazing. Our budget and checkbook make no sense, and forget about a balanced budget (although our checkbook is balanced, thank the Lord!). But somehow, each time a bill is due, it gets paid. God is certainly providing!

This has been the biggest test of faith that I have ever seen in my life, hands down. But you know what – it has been so much FUN to watch as God provides over and over and over again! That’s why I share it here – it’s such a blessing to me that I figure maybe it’ll be a blessing to others as well.

That’s how many hits there’s been to this blog since July 20. Wow. That’s a very humbling thought…

"Jesus wept"

Little man said his first Bible verse today. YAY!

I’ve been working with him on Bible verses, but today was the first time he actually said a whole verse. It might be a short verse, but hey – it’s a start.

Next step: learn the reference that goes with it.

I’m a proud mama tonight!

Both my guys are sick

February 8, 2006 at 1:05 pm in Slice of Life

Both Stephen and Little man are getting sick. :sad_tb: Stephen was working on his sermon this morning (he preached in chapel this morning), just coughing away. I hope he was able to preach without coughing too much! Then, when Little man woke up, he was coughing too. My poor guys! Even right now, Little man is down for a nap, and I can hear him coughing. He must be coughing in his sleep, because he’s quiet otherwise, but he can’t be feeling too good. That explains why he’s been so tired lately; all that coughing must be keeping him from sleeping well.

I hope I don’t get it too – I really don’t want our whole house sick at the same time!

Check out our farm blog. We hope to be adding pictures of our animals there sometime soon. And my sweet Stephen even blogs on it!

Our Farm Blog

That was fun to put up – I tried making graphics for the first time, and used them on the farm blog.

The Gallery is working again

I went to my gallery the other day, and it wasn’t working. :sad_tb: I was pretty concerned, because I didn’t want to spend a lot of time hacking and reading tons of code to fix something, when it worked just fine a couple of weeks ago.

I went to the Gallery support forums, found the answer, and submitted a support ticket to my webhost.

Within two minutes (honest!) I had a reply, and things were fixed! My webhost is incredible! I have always been satisfied with their services, but this was just icing on the cake. That almost instant response pretty much blew me away!

If you’re looking for a good web host, look no further. Check out eChristian Webhosting. They’re fantastic!

And if you’re sitting there wondering why you can’t find a link to the gallery, well…I’m still a little gunshy about just anybody being able to see very many pictures of my son. It’s not linked to anywhere, and it’s password protected. If you’d like access, email me, and we’ll talk.

Renting our home

February 6, 2006 at 4:48 pm in Slice of Life

We have made our decision. We are putting our home on the renter’s market. We have discussed it at length, and have prayed about it. So far, we have peace about the whole situation.

We had the Century 21 Property Manager (I’m gonna call her a pm – it’s easier, lol) out here today to look at the house. She was very encouraging, and gave us a lot of information. Stephen had been talking to a couple people he knows that own rental property, and took their advice, and asked the pm all sorts of questions. It was nice to have her answer our questions the way we were hoping they’d be answered.

We will call her in the morning to give her our final answer. When she left today, we told her that we wanted to discuss it a bit before we give her an answer for sure. So unless God gives us total unrest about the situation (which I’ve seen Him do in other situations when He doesn’t want us to pursue something), we’ll be calling in the morning to set up a time for us to sign management papers.

In many ways, this is a HUGE relief. The pm told us that just today she had someone calling looking for a place to rent – so it is entirely possible that we will have a renter by the end of the week! Wow! We will continue to pack our things, and pray that God is very clear as to how things are to work out.

So now, we are just waiting for God to send the right renters along. Anyone know of someone looking for a house in Clover, SC? :cool1_tb:

Yay!

I just got off the phone with another lady about our house…and she’s coming out this afternoon! YAY! She’s the one that has more information for us…more options for our home…

I am very excited. Hopefully she’ll be able to answer more of our questions that we have.
